Lesson overview: 

Students will learn the difference between an AB, AAB, ABB, and ABC pattern. Students will use manipulatives that consist of colored blocks, shapes, and number cards to form these patterns. After the lesson, students will create their own AB, AAB, ABB, and ABC patterns. 

Essential Question: 

How much information do I need to know about the pattern in order to understand the whole pattern?
